The Circle prepares to march on the Ouroboros's pocket dimension underneath Palanquin, in hopes of freeing everyone trapped in their nightmare shadow realm. But even if getting there is simple, another curveball lies in waiting. Another Solar crosses paths with our party, and unlike Amir, this one may prove to not be as friendly. Well, as "friendly" as Amir gets, anyways. Point is, this one's allied with Ouroborus and Hundred Venoms Stinger, so they're not a friend for sure! Also, there's still the problem of unsealing the locked gateway to Malfeas to get to HellCon in time!
Gavel gets hit with a tragic vision of the future, and struggles to reconcile her rosy view of her bosses with the mounting realization of how much Hell sucks to live in! Lythander gets radicalized by a magical flyer and has to taste his own trickster medicine when Spider and Dolam start pressing his buttons! Aura climbs a moving mountain, kills an evil wizard, and has a weird ranged martial arts duel with a singing jade demon lion! But, weirdest of all, her greatest challenge this episode: having to comfort a friend in need during a stress-induced nervous breakdown! Tepet Etep's Creation-wide capers reach the party, and other forces of Malfeas begin to breach their prison to wreak havoc in our heroes' path! And, to think, all of this is just the pre-game before the actual conference starts! Across Cecelyne, a mere five days away, HellCon awaits...

To check off all the many, many bullet points on their to-do list, the Circle and the Ashen Ones venture into Cecelyne, ready to endure a hellish five day trek to get to...well, Hell. And while the endless desert lives up to its nightmarish reputation, the dangers of the City of Brass itself may prove even more daunting. Especially when the narrator made the mistake of letting the players draw the area map again! Lythander has to figure out how to cram an entire behemoth into the Gaol, and realizes that Spider's ties to the forces of death are far more insidious than he ever imagined! Aura discovers an unfortunate truth at the site of her first Malfeas restaurant, and has to work overtime to dispel enemy propaganda! Gavel comes up against jurisdictional friction of Hell's laws in helping a runaway sorcerer, and finds her new neighbors to be...quite the odd characters, indeed! Infernals turn out to be far from the only attendees to HellCon: many more members of the Exalted Host gather, in anticipation of whatever emerges from the moot...Also, Hell's layout is weird! And in other news, grass is green! So is the sky here, too!

As the Circle and the Ashen Ones settle into their Malfeas...vacation? Sojurn? Layover? Whatever you want to call it, the City of Brass has no shortage of attractions and public events. As both the Infernals congregating around Hell and frequent Exalted visitors of other patrons from across Creation gather, our heroes scramble to make sense the megacity's chaos and further their own plans.
Lythander gets his first peer review on the mushroomfolk project and gets a second secret performance review from an infamous Lunar elder! Aura almost loses her priceless Artifacts on the dance floor and discovers the hellish secret of the competitor restaurant trying to drive her out of business! Gavel meets her wacky new neighbors, and almost has a heart attack at Mnemon Rulensai's gala from all the incredibly dangerous intrigue there! Spider has to make his toughest test of martial skill yet: having patience in trying to avoid fistfighting anyone who looks at him funny! And, several streets over, Adrian and Ouroboros make clear their plans to take Iolda out of the equation. Permanently. Regardless of collateral damage or not. The Circle has beaten other Celestial Exalted before, but an entire Circle of them? Jury's still out there! For now!

Is it "out of the fire, into the frying pan?" when you're already in Hell? Regardless, the Circle still is in a rough place even after escaping Mnemon Runelsai's deadly gala. Now that Raksi has made herself and her current evil scheme apparent, the gang splits up to look into what all the other evil schemes are surrounding the Infernal All-thing. All of them are bad, honestly, it's a matter of degrees and collateral damage.
Aura speaks to Adrian, Solar to Solar, and discovers just how deep his plans go to commit Yozicide! Again! Gavel had to decide between obeying the wishes of the Yozi and opposing one of the Unquestionables to actually help the demonic masses like she's always wanted! Lythander finally is outclassed in pure gremlin energy and, for once, has to be the reasonable one in the room! Spider almost gets everyone killed when he does too well at a test of strength! Sky Sundering Shadow reminds everyone why she's an incredibly dangerous opponent and not just a fun side character playing both sides in warfare! And the whole gang bothers Iolda some more before their fight in the Ruvelian Memorial Football Tournament's halftime show!

In the windup before the Ruvelia Memorial Football Cup's opening games, the Circle learns the peculiarities of Malfean sports law. And of the ball itself. And their competitors. Look, no one expected a soccer game in Hell to be normal, now did they? In any case, the backroom strategies for both the games themselves and the world-shaking magical plots everyone is secretly working on start to mingle together, and it's up to our heroes to start unravelling all this before something critical in Creation's infrastructure breaks too badly.
Gavel has to deal with the football having a mind and will of its own, alongside another Third Circle Demon's dubious offer of help to further her own ends! Aura has to call an old enemy (now in a new form of existence) to help even the odds against the information and martial deficits the Circle is at! Lythander works tenuously alongside Raksi to scope out Orabilis's library, and has to scramble to stop Sky Sundering Shadow from doing something incredibly ill advised! And beyond all this, Hellcon comes ever closer!

Our Circle faces off against the rival Circle of Adrian Wheel-Turner, the Ouroborous, and Hundred Venoms Stinger...in a football match! With the Ashen Ones squaring off against a Solar conjured clone army, and numerous counters to our heroes' most fearsome magics in play, it won't be an easy victory. Both in scoring the most goals, and also stopping whatever their real plan is that they're covering for with sports as an excuse.
Lythander and Raksi case the joint to prepare for their heist on Orabilis's library. In doing so, they find wonders unknown to Creation, and encounter a horrifying magic that shaped the very skies of Hell itself. Aura has her first brush with the Great Curse and has to struggle with the moral implications of fighting someone with a tragic backstory they may have unwittingly caused. Gavel faces off with Adrian, a master of martial arts that rip open creatures of darkness like herself, and also has an excuse of his hatred of the Yozi on her right this second. Spider...actually has a moral backbone for once! And, surprisingly, both he and Nue know ball!

Sky Sundering Shadow. The Abyssal Exalted who's had an uneasy truce with the Circle since day one. Now she finally confronts our heroes directly. And, even if it's an allegedly friendly match of football between their teams, she can still bring Void Circle Necromancy to bear. When your tools are magic that powerful, well, collateral damage and risk of severe harm and death are part and parcel. And that's not even going into Lythander doing the actual heist on Orabilis's library today too.Aura finally finds someone too powerful to take on with her usual tactics in Sky, and struggles to keep up with her necromantic prowess and her secret weapon: Spider, who was never really on anyone but Lythanders' side anyways. Gavel has her loyalty to her friends and the Ashen Ones trust in everyone put to the test: will their very souls be left unchanged? Nue has to make a key decision on sticking with everyone else or taking a new life in Malfeas to avoid the mistakes of the First Age forever dogging her. And Lythander makes a disturbing discovery deep in Orabilis's vaults on his quest to destroy soulsteel. One that will send him to yet another peril, yet perhaps may still prove...interesting.

Lythander's long quest to free souls trapped within soulsteel. The enigma that is Ouroborous and their true goals in sowing chaos in Hell. Aura and Nue's preparations into their grand journey back to El Dorado. Tepet Etep's schemes and his theft of the peaches of immortality. The demon our heroes were pointed to in Orabilis's library has answers to all of these questions. But to make any headway, our Circle must confront their deaths. Of the past, of the possible future, of narrowly avoided brushes with the end, and of poor life decisions at the Body Upon the Water's Edge's lakefront property.
Gavel learns some highly uncomfortable things about the Infernal All-Thing: the most dangerous thing in Malfeas might just be her fellow con-goers! Aura learns a cool new trick and gets very stressed out with all of these dozens of nightmare quests going on at once! Lythander makes some...brave (?) decisions and finds that crucial information on anti-soulsteel forging that Gnosis tried to deny him last time! Nue pushes against her own insecurities and faces her past fears to help her Circle, and also makes some brave (?) calls too! Dark-Eyed Stargazer confronts his own mortality and starts making some plans for the (far) future! And we finally find out the depths of Wuxia Wario's schemes, and how he may be the spark that lights Ouroborous's firedust keg to explode all of Hell! By accident!

The Ouroborous makes their move tonight. With Dokuzan's intel, the Circle finds their hiding place in the most perilous place possible. Perilous to themeslves? Perilous to Oruborous and Adrian? Perilous to all of Malfeas and all its denizens? Yes, to all of the above! Their master plan to force every demon in existence to share in the suffering of mortality nears its turning point. Can out heroes save Malfeas (and by proxy Creation) from the brink of interplanar war?
In doing this, Lythander makes a critical mistake, putting the fabric of reality at risk for one of his trademark funny japes! Gavel has the first major sign of strain with her immortal benefactors in how obstinate they are in the face of mortal peril! Aura has to make some big decisions on how to start fixing her past and present mistakes! Nue has to wrestle a Magma Kraken in a highly unusual hold! Adrian has to decide between his grand plans on fixing Malfeas and everyone that would imperil along the way, including his most cherished friends! And just what power is the Ouroborous hiding under their hood?!

Iolda. Third Circle Demon. One of the architects of Creation itself. Master martial artist. Gigantic bigot. It is finally time for our heroes to take him on personally, in a duel with all of Hell watching closely. Will this world-shaping demagogue be the one to triumph in his crusade of eradicating free will? Or will the Circle be able to pull off what even the Exalted of old could not, and bring him low? In our longest episode yet, we'll see which way the wind blows. One way or the other.
Lythander's patience continues to be tested by his mercurial Solar partner, and he has to adapt when Iolda's sheer power renders amost his entire toolkit compromised. Aura ruminates on a project whose very scope could reshape all reality itself, in the aid of helping those crushed underfoot as Ouroborous was. Gavel finds herself outmatched, and suffers a gruesome injury-can she push past it to save her people? And, beyond all of this, what lies ahead even if our heroes DO win? There's only one way to find out!
